Will Kristin Keurk & Michael Rosenbaum return to Smallville ?

Chun-Li Returning to Smallville?

Kristin Kreuk talks about the possibility of returning to Smallville.

Movie Web site Moviehole recently spoke to Kristin Kreuk while out on the promotion circuit. She says there is still a chance Lana Lang will make a return to TV show Smallville.

"I’m open to going back if there’s a reason for it," she tells the Web site.

Kreuk is out promoting her film, Street Fighter: the Legend of Chun-Li, in which she stars as the title character.

While chances of her return are possible, and she certainly is up for another go as Clark Kent’s first love, Kreuk is not sure how likely it is that she will return to Smallville.

"I’m not sure. I think it depends on Tom [Welling]. He hasn’t signed on for season nine as of this moment, but it looks like they’re gearing up to go more. But I have no idea, because I am not in the loop. I’m not sure what the heck’s going on over there, [or what] the producers’ plans are, in regards to doing their finale," she said.

But if producers and the CW network decide to bring back the show for its ninth season, expect Kreuk to reprise her role as Lang, especially for the series finale, which has Kreuk definitely interested.

"Absolutely. It’s a lovely group of people," she told the Web site.

Will Michael Rosenbaum return to Smallville?

Clark Kent is sticking around for Smallville’s upcoming ninth season, but will the show’s original Lex Luthor ever return?

Sources are telling our friends at Airlock Alpha that the writers of Smallville want to bring Michael Rosenbaum back for season nine.

Rosenabuam left the show last May after seven seasons as the villainous Luthor. Rumors about the actor returning to the show have been floating around the Internet for months. This season, a stand-in whose voice and face were altered and hidden by a high tech-looking breathing mask - a la Darth Vader - appeared as Lex Luthor in a few episodes. The character apparently died in an explosion in the Feb. 5 episode "Requim," but that doesn’t mean he won’t reappear on the show, especially if Rosenbaum agrees to reprise the role.

I’d love to see Rosenbaum return to Smallville. He always brought a slick sophistication to the role of Lex Luthor that stood in sharp contrast to Gene Hackman and Kevin Spacey’s goofy performances in the Superman movies. Smallville has been doing very well, creatively and in the ratings, without Rosenbaum and show creators Al Gough and Miles Millar. Since their departures, Smallville has felt fresh and fun, but I think Rosenbaum’s return could only help the show at this point. He was always one of Smallville’s greatest assets.

One question that Rosenbaum’s possible return raises is: Does Smallville have room for two big bads? Will Sam Witwer’s Doomsday/Davis Bloom be shown the door if Rosenbaum comes back?
